【登壇レポート】第81回日本助産学会学術集会｜フェムテックと助産師がつなぐ未来

2025年5月17日、一橋大学にて開催された第81回日本助産学会学術集会のランチョンセミナーに、fermataが登壇しました。
本学会での登壇は昨年に続き2年連続となります。
今回の講演テーマは「フェムテックの進化と助産師の役割」。
女性の健康課題とテクノロジーの接点に焦点を当て、周産期・地域ケアの現場を支える助産師の皆さまと、フェムテックがもたらす新たな医療実装の可能性を共有しました。
🔹 フェムテック最前線：変わりゆく女性の健康観と社会を動かす技術
月経・妊娠・更年期など、各ライフステージに対応するフェムテックの最新動向を紹介。これらの技術が、従来可視化されてこなかった個々の悩みや症状を社会課題として浮かび上がらせ、ケアの対象を拡張しつつある現状を解説しました。
🔹 「なぜ広がらない？」日本市場における課題と展望
薬機法上のグレーゾーン、経済的負担、そして根強いタブー意識といった、日本特有の障壁を整理。加えて、フェムテックを実際のケアに活用するための「制度的・現場的インフラ」が未整備であることを指摘しました。
テクノロジーが存在しても、それを届ける仕組みと担い手がなければ、社会実装は進みません。
その“橋渡し役”として重要な存在が、地域に根差した助産師であることを強調しました。助産師がフェムテックを理解し、日常のケアに取り入れることで、制度と現場のギャップを埋める大きな力となることを共有しました。
🔹 助産師×フェムテックでひらく地域ケアの未来
fermataは、助産師がフェムテックを単なる新技術ではなく、地域の医療課題に対する解決策の一つとして活用する未来像を提案しました。
フェムテックは、医療と生活の間にある隙間を埋め、声にならなかった困りごとをすくい上げる力を持ちます。そうした技術が意味を持つには、現場のプロフェッショナルによる“つなぐ力”が不可欠です。
セミナー終了後には、
「フェムテックの背景や課題、そして助産師としての具体的な関わり方が明確になった」
といった声を多数いただきました。
今後もfermataは、医療・ケアの現場に携わる皆さまと連携しながら、女性の健康に対する選択肢を拡げる取り組みを続けてまいります。

[Event Report] fermata at the 81st Annual Meeting of the Japan Academy of Midwifery — Bridging Innovation and Maternal Care
On May 17, 2025, fermata participated in a luncheon seminar at the 81st Annual Meeting of the Japan Academy of Midwifery, held at Hitotsubashi University.
This marked our second consecutive year speaking at the conference.
Under the theme “The Evolution of Femtech and the Role of Midwives,” we explored the intersection of women’s health and technology, and discussed how femtech can be integrated into perinatal and community-based care, particularly through the leadership of midwives.
🔹 Femtech at the Forefront: Evolving Perceptions of Women’s Health and the Role of Technology
We introduced the latest trends in femtech across key life stages—menstruation, fertility, menopause—and illustrated how these technologies are helping visualize and validate health concerns that have historically remained invisible or unspoken.
🔹 Why Isn’t Femtech Scaling in Japan? Structural Barriers and the Need for Practical Infrastructure
We examined Japan-specific challenges such as regulatory ambiguity (under the PMD Act), financial burdens, and persistent cultural taboos. In addition, we highlighted a critical but often overlooked issue: the lack of practical infrastructure in medical and community settings to support femtech implementation.
Technology alone cannot solve health challenges—it requires systems and professionals to deliver it meaningfully. We emphasized that midwives, as trusted frontline caregivers, are in a unique position to act as the bridge between innovation and care delivery. Their familiarity and comfort with using femtech in daily practice will be essential in closing the gap between regulation and reality.
🔹 Midwives × Femtech: A Vision for Community-Centered Innovation
Rather than positioning femtech as just a new tool, we proposed viewing it as a catalyst for solving persistent issues in community health.
Femtech has the potential to fill the gaps between clinical care and everyday life, surfacing needs that were previously overlooked. But for that potential to be realized, we need professionals on the ground—like midwives—who can connect technology with trust.
Following the session, many participants shared feedback such as:
“I finally understand what femtech is, why it hasn’t spread, and what role midwives can play in moving it forward.”
